"Brief Journal Written in Prison", by
Pearl Udall, 1932.
* Pearl Udall's typescript of David K. Udall's prison journals, is
not a verbatim copy of the original notebook pages and
envelopes held by the Special Collections Department at the University
of Arizona Library. It appears to be a narrative in which Pearl has
made, among other things, some minor revisions involving sentence structure
and content, and using full names in place of initials. David K.Udall
kept prison journals during his stays at the Yavapai County Jail in Prescott,
Arizona, and the Detroit House of Correction in Detroit, Michigan.
The following pages have been scanned and enlarged for easier reading
from the originals held by the Special Collections Department.
